Discover Zaika

Located in the heart of London’s vibrant Kensington, Zaika offers a dining experience that combines traditional Indian flavors with modern twists. As you step into the restaurant, the elegant ambiance and contemporary decor immediately set the tone for what promises to be a memorable meal. Whether you’re a local or a tourist exploring the area, Zaika stands out as a destination for those seeking high-quality Indian cuisine in an inviting atmosphere.

The menu at Zaika is carefully crafted to showcase the rich diversity of Indian dishes. From the first bite to the last, each dish is bursting with bold flavors and fragrant spices. The restaurant takes pride in using only the freshest ingredients, and it shows in the vibrant colors and tastes of every plate.

One of the standout features of Zaika is their commitment to balancing traditional Indian recipes with innovative techniques. Whether you’re enjoying a classic chicken tikka masala or opting for a more adventurous dish, you can expect each item to be prepared with expert precision. The menu is diverse, catering to both meat lovers and vegetarians, with many options that reflect the culinary traditions of India’s different regions. If you’re in the mood for something unique, their tandoori options-grilled to perfection in the traditional clay oven-are an absolute must-try.

The appetizers at Zaika set the stage for the main course. The mixed starter platter is a popular choice, offering a little taste of everything from crispy pakoras to succulent seekh kebabs. The flavors are rich and well-balanced, never overpowering, allowing you to appreciate the nuanced spices that are a hallmark of Indian cuisine. For those with a love for seafood, the grilled fish served with a tangy mint chutney is light yet full of flavor, leaving you wanting more.

When it comes to the mains, Zaika truly shines. One of the favorites among regular patrons is the lamb rogan josh, a slow-cooked, tender dish served with a rich, aromatic curry that strikes the perfect balance between heat and depth of flavor. For those seeking a lighter option, the paneer tikka masala offers a creamy, comforting experience with smoky grilled paneer cubes swimming in a luscious tomato-based sauce.

Zaika also caters to those with dietary restrictions, offering several vegan and gluten-free options. This commitment to inclusivity makes it an appealing choice for a wide range of diners. The naan bread, soft and slightly charred, pairs wonderfully with any curry, while the basmati rice is perfectly fluffy-each grain separated and cooked to perfection.

The restaurant’s service is another reason Zaika continues to draw loyal customers. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure every guest feels well taken care of. Whether you need help choosing between two dishes or have a specific dietary requirement, they are more than happy to assist with suggestions tailored to your preferences.

In terms of location, Zaika is nestled right in the heart of Kensington, making it a perfect stop for those exploring the area. The proximity to landmarks like Hyde Park and Kensington Palace also makes it a great place to grab a meal before or after a day of sightseeing.

If you’re looking to indulge in a truly delightful Indian meal, Zaika in Kensington is an exceptional choice. With its impeccable blend of traditional flavors and modern flair, it promises an experience that will keep you coming back. The restaurant’s warm hospitality, combined with a menu that caters to both the adventurous and the traditional, ensures that every visit is a satisfying journey through the rich, aromatic world of Indian cuisine.

  • A Delightful Afternoon at Zaika After a leisurely stroll through Kensington Palace, my wife and I decided to stop by Zaika for lunch. While the restaurant is typically known for its dinner service, we had the rare pleasure of having the entire space to ourselves at noon—a quiet luxury that made the experience feel even more special. The ambiance is charmingly old-school, adorned with tasteful paintings that evoke a sense of elegance without feeling dated. Our server, Rahail, was warm and attentive, adding a personal touch that made us feel truly welcome. We began with the Raj Kachori, which pleasantly surprised us. Unlike the usual hot serving, Zaika’s version came chilled—refreshing and absolutely bursting with flavor. I paired it with a masala chai, which leaned toward the subtle side in terms of strength but was beautifully balanced and aromatic. My wife had the mango lassi, which was rich, smooth, and perfectly sweet. All in all, a lovely midday escape—delicious food, gracious service, and a serene setting. We’d gladly return, perhaps for dinner next time, to experience the place in its full glory.

  • Walking by, stopped to look at the menu and decided we would give it a try. Very pleased we did. Probably the best of all the Indian restaurants we have eaten at in Central London (and that is quite a few). Service, food ambience - excellent. We will be back !!

  • i've been going to Zaika for many years and it never disappoints. I've tried all the famous and classic Indians around London but this one is just THE TASTIEST. A modern Indian restaurant done well. The food is truly delicious, the restaurant is beautiful and the staff lovely. It's just full of flavours! Just writing about it makes me salivate...

  • A delightful surprise, with a cosy and intimate atmosphere. I could honestly say it was the most delicious Indian food I’ve ever tried: full of flavour and technically flawless. The bathrooms were spotless and carried a wonderful oriental scent of oud. Our waiter, Akbor, was charming with his recommendations and extremely kind and professional. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

  • It had been a great day out with my daughter and we were now thirsty and looking for somewhere to relax and sample some cool cocktails, when we came across Zaika of Kensington a Indian restaurant & bar. It was a cold winter evening in November and the first experience was not only fantastic ambience with a very authentic décor, but we were also warmly welcomed by two very friendly front of house staff. We grab a seat at the expansive bar on the very comfortable stools and settled in to review the menu, we decided on the classic Singapore Sling and took in the very laid back and sophisticated vybe. Watching our bartender making our cocktails it was clear that he was very familiar with the required ingredients and also made it to a standard which I can closely compare with the original I had whilst on vacation in Singapore last year. The staff were professional and friendly and the drinks were amazing made with fantastic attention to detail and leaving us much warmer and both agreeing that it had been the perfect end to a great midweek uptown excursion. We will definitely be coming back to experience the full culinary experience and of course sample more of their amazing cocktails, the list is not long but what they do offer is curated to a very high standard.
